Android is basically an open source operating system that runs on 90% smartphones.
Every android smartphone available in markets comes up with an android version.
You purchase the smartphone by considering it to run the latest version and i do so :P.
These names seems to be more sweeter than any of the sweet dishes, Sometimes i want to eat all of them but all in vain.....;)
Today i am going to tell you something that you never noticed.
Some people are quite often to know all the versions of android, but most of then forget to remember all of its version.
You will be astonish to know that the codenames of android ranges from A to M till now, such as
- Aestro
- Blender
- Cupcake
- Donut
- Eclair
- Froyo
- Gingerbread
- Honeycomb
- Ice Cream Sandwitch
- Kitkat
- Lollipop
- Marshmallow
- N------------- ( I don't know the name of this version but surely it will start its name from 'N' :p )
Each Version of android come up with new material view concept.
Beside this, each version of android has its own API level ( short for Android Project Interface )
This level is set while you are developing the android application on its simulator, if you set the API level with reference to ICE CREAM SANDWITCH , then surely that APP will not run on Later version of it, but it will keep running the older versions released before it.
